FAQ
Applications are open to students currently enrolled in the 10th and 11th grades of high school with a keen interest in improving their personal development skills and seeking guidance in their career decision-making process.
Throughout the program, participants will engage in a total of 12 training sessions and workshops focused on personal development and career choice. These sessions will be facilitated by experienced professionals and industry leaders who have extensive work experience and expertise in their respective fields.
The program spans a total of 4-6 months, with training sessions scheduled weekly outside of school hours. Internships will take place during students' vacation periods.
Applicants are required to submit their applications online, providing essential personal information. Additionally, candidates are required to submit short essays elaborating on their motivation for joining this program and their career aspirations. Successful applicants proceed to a one-on-one interview.
Applications and essays can be written in either Mongolian or English.
The selection process involves an initial review of written applications, followed by interviews with shortlisted candidates. Following the second round of interviews, 20-25 participants will be chosen for the program based on their dedication to actively engage in the program and their potential for learning and personal development.
If selected for the program, participants must attend weekly in-person meetings and undertake short-term internships in Ulaanbaatar. Therefore, participants need to be currently residing in Ulaanbaatar.
When designing the program, we established this high-school grade boundary considering several factors. Seniors in grade 12 usually focus on significant life transitions, such as graduation and college preparation, while students in 9th grade or below might not yet be fully prepared for independent social interactions.
One of the main challenges that high school students face is career choice. We, as high school students, often have limited knowledge about our desired professions and the difference between our imagination and the realities of various jobs. Unfortunately, the support offered by high schools in addressing this issue is often insufficient. However, last year, I came across the Junior Internship Program (JIP) and saw it as an opportunity to find the answers to the questions that I was seeking. Despite my initial reservations about application essays and selection interviews, I decided to apply. I was overjoyed when I received the email confirming my selection as a participant for this program. What drew me to this program the most was its unique offering of not only career advice and personal development training but also opportunities for hands-on internships. Throughout the program, I engaged with professionals from diverse fields and found an incredible mentor who supported my skill development across various spheres. Opting for Zorig Foundation as my internship host, I gained valuable experience working in an office, collaborating with team members, and undertaking tasks related to my interest in IT engineering. The program not only broadened my perspective but also equipped me with practical knowledge aligned with my aspirations. To students in 10th and 11th grade grappling with questions about career choices, I encourage you to submit your applications to the JIP. Challenge yourself, as I did, and embark on a journey that could reshape your understanding of your future path.
