Sustainable Employment for Youth Program

Since 2018, the Sustainable Employment for Youth Program (SEYP), with support from Lorinet Foundation, has helped young people in Mongolia prepare for and access sustainable employment. Building on the experience and achievements of earlier phases, SEYP Phase 3 expands career development services at the National University of Mongolia. Through collaboration among students, employers, and the university, the program strengthens students’ career readiness throughout their studies and supports a smoother, faster transition from education to work. Drawing on this experience, the program aims to develop a career development center framework that other universities can adapt to their own contexts and needs. This will lay the foundation for lasting systems that strengthen graduate employability and support sustainable youth employment.

I joined the NUM Career Club on October 10, 2025. Over the past 11 months, it has become one of the most valuable experiences of my university life. Through training provided by the Mongolian Talent Network and the Zorig Foundation, I learned how to write a CV and professional emails, develop my LinkedIn profile, prepare for job and scholarship interviews, and plan my career. By organizing events with other club members, I also improved my teamwork, communication, and leadership skills. Most importantly, I had the opportunity to share what I had learned with other students. The skills and confidence I gained helped me earn a place in the Girls in STEM Scholarship Program. They also supported me through the six-stage selection process for KHAN Bank’s Paid Summer Internship Program. More than 1,000 students applied, and I was one of just over 60 students selected for the two-month internship. I believe the knowledge and experience I gained from the NUM Career Club will continue to support me even after graduation. I sincerely thank everyone who helped establish and develop the club, especially the Lorinet Foundation, for creating this valuable opportunity.
